Strong Results and Lessons from 2020 Pilot

Baseline New Manager training 2020 Pilot Report

In 2020, for the first time, we piloted a blended learning format, with our virtual New Manager Training. With a stellar group of 37 new managers and 17 tenured staff facilitators we tried out new formats combining asynchronous and synchronous learning. Our goal was to deliver a high-quality training, in a format that would fit into the schedule of our busy managers, and make a lasting impact on their management practices. In our evaluation of this pilot, we were pleased to see that 61.5% of learners chose blended learning as their top preference for learning format, and that learners rated the pilot 4.1 out of 5 in terms of training quality and value to their work as managers. We also identified key challenges and opportunities for us to build on, as we continue to pilot blended learning in 2021, including reducing the scope of content covered, and continuing to get creative with how to build community virtually. For more detailed results of our 2020 pilot, please review our 2020 New Manager Training Pilot Report.
